Talley Announces 25-26 Professional Employee of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. SanAngelo, our school manager, for being named Talley's 25-26 Professional Employee of the Year. The qualifications to be PEOTY is to demonstrate leadership within the school, collaborate with staff, parents, and administrators, support student achievement. Mrs. SanAngelo is an invaluable member of our school community. She has been with Talley since our opening in the 19-20 school year, and has served in many capacities, including classroom teacher, media clerk, and school manager. She supports our teachers, staff, and families so well and shows compassion and understanding to all she meets. We are so lucky to have her at Talley!

Ms. Brewton and Mr. Holliday were named DEF Extra Mile Award recipients for 2025. The Extra Mile Award honors teachers who have gone above and beyond to support students. Ms. Brewton was nominated by Faith Hamilton and her family, and Mr. Holliday was nominated by Bennett Reno. We are so grateful to have them at Talley Street! 

Talley Street Named a Georgia Literacy Leader

State Superintendent Richard Woods named Talley Street Upper Elementary one of Georgia's 24-25 Literacy Leader schools! Talley received the Georgia Department of Education’s (GaDOE) Gateway Growth Award for third grade. This award is given to schools with more than 90% of third-graders reading at or above grade level. Our school’s fifth-grade received the Growth Award and the Achievement Award, which are given to grade levels that have grown in reading achievement over the last year but are not yet eligible for the Gateway Growth Award. We are so proud of all of our students and teachers!
